Reaching out to Poor Families...

May 14, 2009 was a very busy day for the orphanage, as we have moved our faith higher and cheerfully decided to set the day to extend some help to the community. We have identified 250 deprived families from Toril, Bago and Talomo area, of Davao City to benefit the said gift giving activity. Our children and staff enthusiasmly prepared packs of rice. dried fish, noodles, soap and toothbrush to share.

The items that we have given away were donations to the orphanage. As we believe, more blessings and donations will come our way if we also learn to share what we have received and these people from the community truly need some helping hands.
After the event, everyone went home with great smiles and with a thankful heart. Depsite of their circumstances, they are always remembered and cared sincerely.

Last May 19-23, 2009, Love The Children Foundation initiated a Summer kids Camp for all its clients. It was held at the founder's area at Datu Salumay, Marilog District Davao City. The fact that they were on vacation from school, this series of activities intends to develop their camaraderie, enrich their analytical minds and build their personality through challenges, games and group task. There was also mountain trecking event which added more excitement to the activity. The very supportive house parents with some selected staff took charged of the kids' security and welfare during the whole period.

After the different phases of challenges they faced, they were also given the opportunity to have fun in a nearby mountain resort, the simplicity of the place and its majestic beauty made all our kids appreciate God as the creator of everything. At the end of the event, we have undertaken some assessment if the goals and objectives of the camping event were truly achieved. We are so glad that indeed it was achieved and even though the event was simple in nature, it impacted their lives significantly and we are looking forward for more event like this in the coming days.
